Thanks for the list Peter - what would be your recommendation for a good general book for helmet identification?

        Speaking of books,
As anyone got a copy of the new camo helmets book by Branislav Radovic. JohnB has some of his masterpieces in there, and maybe me too.

Kelly Hicks has his new one coming out in a month or two. That will be a must have for SS helmet collectors.,

Good general book of helmet identification - definitely Paolo Marzetti's book, the 2003 edition!

            Hi Peter

I was always told this is the "bible" so I recommend this :

            Ludwig Baer
            R. James Bender Publishing
            ISBN: 0912138319 (January 1985)

Plus beacuse you are an assoc member you get a discount from Bender

Agreed. It is certainly a good book with a lot of information. However for a beginner I'd recommend Floyd Tubbs Stahlhelm, the recent edition with Robert Clawson. That book gives a good overview, just don't trust the photos.

Then jump in Baer's book. The problem with this book is that it is a translation and some abridged version of the German edition and hence is terribly organized and a bit overwhelming.

Marzetti's HELMETS is a bargain & far superior to the earlier editions. Buy now before it goes out of print!
