        Movie

I didn't have the time to look through all of the pages so I don't know if my Favorite WW2 movie was mentioned. I'd like to give a shout out for "Where Eagles Dare". That Castle is Awesome! And it's in winter and I swear that if you really get into the Movie you will almost feel Cold! Check it out! You can't beat Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood. Cool Thread BTW, Butch

Same to me. Where Eagles Dare is the Best. Hollywood just does not make this kind of movie anymore. It is just a non-stop action film right from the beginning first jump till the end jump. See the mix of Army, W/SS, Gestapo, Luft.,Engineer all mixed in one single movie.

                      'KATYN'

KATYN is the harrowing story of the Polish Officers murdered by the Russian Secret Police deep in the Katyn forest during the World War II and the families who, unaware of the crime, were still waiting for their husbands, fathers, sons, and brothers to return. It is a film about the continuing struggle over History and memory, and an uncompromising exploration of the disturbing and unfathomable Russian cover up of the brutal massacre that prevented the Polish population from commemorating those that had been murdered. Watch it, it is a classic piece of film making and not the usual Hollywood fare.

                      Regards Richard.

Even if I don't see it as a war movie as such, more like a psychological thriller, it must be Apocalypse Now.

My second choice would be Battle of Britain and The Longest Day.

That is a great movie! Based on a true story that I never heard of before, I caught it on IFC a few months ago. Sad ending though!

I want to see "The Secret of Santa Vittoria" again. It's been decades since I've seen it. But I remember Hardy Kruger in a great private purchase SP wrap and matching M-43, plus lots of Kettenkrad action and some Italiano hotties! Something for everyone!
