New book on the KdF Fleet

    Hello:

In my quest to get the word out about my new book, I came across this site and so far I find it fascinating.

Anyway, my new book is titled "The KdF Fleet in historic photographs." 200 pages, over 300 photos (most of which have never been published before) and is available in soft or hardcover. The book covers the history of the KdF's ocean-going ships including Berlin, Dresden, Oceana, St Louis, Stuttgart, The Monte ships, Der Deutsche, Sierra Cordoba, Wilhelm Gustloff & Robert Ley.

For those interested in more info, here is a link:

Looking forward to actively participating in the forums.

    Thanks.

    -Russ

      KDF Fleet

      Hi Russ,
Great, I must have this book! I collect KDF items and you can see by my original cap tally.

      Regards,
      Jody

Excellent cap tally Jody! I'm lucky to have the matching one from the Gustloff!

Hope you enjoy the book. So far the response has been very favorable.

          Hi Russ,
BTW, the tally is uncut, I just cropped it for the photo. I have a Gustlof as well with borders.

Here is a link to some of my other KM items.

Is the book just for sale from the site posted?

          Regards,

            Jody:

The book is on Ebay (for the same price) as well as from the site I've posted.

If you're into KdF ships, the photos alone in this book will knock you over!

My Gustloff tally is, unfortunately, cut.

                A great link. Thanks John.

Thanks for the information. I am going to keep my eyes open for a copy of this book.

                  John:

The wilhelmgustloffmuseum site is NOT my site. That site is run by a guy in Baltimore named Edward Petruskevich. He and I know each other and three of his photos are in my book.

                  Kind regards,

                  -Russ

And you have other books also, one for Bremen?

From the website I posted above stating the white tally was for the maiden voyage and one of my white examples.

Almost an exact match. Like your black example, this is also uncut.

                        John:

Yes, I do have a book out on Bremen and Europa. It's Bremen & Europa - Speed Queens of the Atlantic, published by Maritime Publishing Concepts in the UK. 198 pages, over 300 pics, ten chapters (including three devoted entirely to their interiors) plus a section on memorabilia.

I am currently out of copies here in the U.S. but it can be purchased directly from the publisher at the following link:

                        http://bremenandeuropabookuk.homeste...dEuropaUK.html

Thanks for your interest....I appreciate it.

Not clear about the above link. Can you buy it through this part of that website or do you need to buy it only through the UK, meaning who knows how long it would take to get to the US?

What about if you wanted to buy both books, is that possible, meaning combined shipping?

Or, does each book have to be purchased separately?

                            Bremen/Europa book

                            Hi John:

Books ordered from the U.S./Canadian site come from me here in the states, orders from everywhere else go through the publisher in the UK.

I've just sent you a private message that will clear it up.....

                              Change to KdF book link!

For those interested, the link to the KdF book has changed. The new link below now allows you to preview the entire book (for about a week or so).

                              Thanks!
