I have to add my 2p to this thread as this is without the best book I have purchased this year by a mile.

While the Jagdflieger Knights Cross recipients have been extensively covered in the past, their Kampfflieger counterparts have been largely ignored.

The level of research and subsequent quality of presentation set this work on Knights Cross bearers to a new level.

I also await Volume 2 eagerly and hope that the Aufklarungsflieger and Transportflieger Knights Cross bearers are represented in a similar fashion.

I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

Just received Volume 2 and in my opinion, these 2 volumes have now set a benchmark for recording Luftwaffe RKT. I hope that further volumes covering other branches are to be released.

Highly recommended reading for anyone interested in Luftwaffe RKT.

I just recieved both volumes of this seminal work; just an outstanding, high quality work.
Much more information on the recipients, than in Obermaier's works, which I also have and treasure.
Printed on high quality paper, with photos of high resolution, including the occasional color photo.
Hard to believe that these volumes could be improved upon.
