German Cross in Gold Holders by Mark C. Yerger.

German Cross in Gold Holders of the SS and Police Volume 4, Cavalry Brigade and Divisions, by Mark C. Yerger.

This is a one of a kind outstanding biographical study.

A must have for everyone who is interested in the SS and the Police.

Yerger shows in his book how historical research should be done.

Well and clear written, 368 pages, 139 photos, further on German Cross in Gold recommendations, award documents and information on the Honor Clasp and Close Combat Clasp in Gold recipients.

Majority of illustrations is not published before.

Extra information is provided by 394 footnotes

Again his publisher R.James Bender turned Mark’s research in a very handy sized book, printed on quality paper and very well bound, making it a superb book.

Thanks, also for the kind words and happy it's here next week. My apologies for unavoidable production problems with new publisher PC programs, etc. But I adore my publisher for his quality product and attention to detail, having no desire to have my books done by anyone else. He wrote the first book on the Waffen-SS I read.

Of course I welcome as always hearing from readers after they absorb their copy, in this case a unit demonstrating the close co-operation between the Army and the Waffen-SS as well as one of the more complicated units as far as its development and deployment.

And before the first e-mail asks, volume 6 completes the Polizei Division and independent Polizei unit German Cross holders as well as a separate section on the dozen senior independent SS leaders who won the GC. Those latter 12 include von dem Bach, Rösener, Jeckeln, Kammler, and Prützmann among others.

Hopefully I'm back up to speed and meet my own deadline for vol. 6, despite a rough final quarter this year with 2 more surgeries and the death of my mother with resulting time needed for all that involved regards her care and estate. Will do my best in that regard and have hopefully shown to be rather constant over the decades in producing my books with a significant amount of new data, numerous corrections to other books, and images. Books one can actually learn from.

            Best Christmas holiday wishes,
            Mark C. Yerger

Mark 2011 will be a better year, most definitely given all that you have had to work through and deal with you deserve it.

As one who has enjoyed and learnt from your books , previous ones and this series which has been a delight to both read and collect an order for number 5 was immediate and like others I look forward to "number 6", your appreciation of your publisher we share with you from a readers perspective.

So often you pay for what you get and investing in your DKIG series has been very worthwhile.
Take care and best wishes for 2011.

I think M.Y. sums it up pretty well , books you can learn from, l have become very critical when it comes to buying books and it is a very long time since I have bought anything which I have regretted or felt that was a waste of time and money.

Although most of what I buy now revolves around the Kriegsmarine I still look forward to the books in this series all can be applied and are useful.
