    Recommended New Book

Just got hold of a copy of a recent German book,

" Die Ritterkreuzträger des Eisernen Kreuzes der preußíschen Provinz Schleswig-Holstein und der Freien und Hasestadt Lübeck 1939-45"

Authors are Jürgen Huss and Armin Viohl. (Jürgen Huss is the father of Thomas Huss of german-historica.de)

This is a hardback book, large A4 format, 336 pages with hundreds of fabulous photographs of Knight's Cross winners. Quality of the photos is superb, certainbly good enough in many cases to identify with near certainty the manufacturer of the Knight's Crosses being worn. At averaging around 3-4 photos per page , there must be around 1000 quality photos, showing, as well as the Knight's Coss winners themselves, various award documents, Soldbücher, Wehrpässe etc. Many of the photos are previously unseen and include rarities such as the Kurland cuffband being worn..

If you like top quality photos of KC winners with superb detail of uniforms, awards etc, this one is a must. Only brief details of each winner are included, so the fact that the text is in German wonät be a problem, this is prodominantly a photo-book.

Published by VDM Heinz Nickel, 66482 Zweibrücken, Germany, )they have a web-site http://www.VDMedien.de . ISBN is 3-925 480-79-x
