amazing story of sgt harold cole,pre-war conman , deserted in 1940 in France ,then masqueraded as a secret service officer helping escaped British troops back to Britain working with mi9,after pocketing escape money he became a double agent for the Germans and informed on all his contacts,during the rest of the war he appeared in German uniform , incredibly in 1945 he blagged his way into working with the Americans helping them hunt down his former German bosses, finally unmasked he was killed in Paris during a shoot out,stranger than fiction an amazing book ,as a footnote British files on him and his work for mi9 have not been released and are still classified

finished this book , can t believe they haven t made a film of this ,ended the war as a "British inteligence officer working with the Americans and French,torturing and murdering nazi officials ,he wore American leutenants uniform and then promoted himself to us captain !a complete fraud, incredible story -
