Hello,
Robin's thread got me thinking: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=407546
I am 45 years old and have been collecting since 1972. I have not been around as long as some on this forum, but I have been around long enough to have obtained many reference books from the good old days.
Todays collector has the internet and does not appreciate how much hard work it was to collect (even as far back as 1994) back in the day. You had very little information and pictures had to be sent back and forth via the post office.
What I want to do is post some of the reference materials we had available to us from the good old days. I am not talking about Bender books and the such, but books that were published to help the collector. I bet I am not the only one here who wore out both books by Jack Pia on Nazi and SS Regalia (I still love those books).
Here is some that I still have. Some of the works were of a great help and others not so much, but all made the quest for WWII relics even more exciting. If you old timers have some please post them here.
Good Collecting,
Jody
First up (a 3 issue magazine set from one of the forum greats Bill Stump, who co-authored these works along with John Ormsby). Here are two of the issues. I have the other issue around here somewhere. I still find these magazines kinda cool. I met Bill as a result of these magazines and I began to write and call him on the phone.
