    Goumiers and french war crimes in Italy

    Hello, is there any good reference book in english about the war crimes committed mainly during the italian campaign by the french colonial troops?
    There are few titles in italian and probably in french, but since many episodes were documented by GI's, I was wondering if there is anything in english. Thanks Zeller

    The book "France, Soldiers, and Africa", by Anthony Clayton, is a detailed history of the regiments of the Armee d'Afrique. It includes some detail on the behavior of the Goumiers, and other North African troops in Italy, as well in Southern France, and Germany.
    I believe the Goumier's behavior was especially bad on numerous occasions. Fine troops in action, but a handful behind the lines.
