Just finished this fantastic book "Im Fadenkreuz". Incredible biography, a must.

Another new book and far better than the one on Allerberger. This contains copies of his documents (to include his various sniper awards) and sniper log, confirming more than 200 kills. This book also lays out the horrible conditions in the east after WWII. He only returned to Germany in 1990, but could not legally resettle there until 1997.

A fantastic book! I just finished it. I was a little bit disappointed with the "in-war" commentary, it was dry and sounded like "Observed 2 Russians digging trenches shot them at 400m (99) (100)"

I STILL have not found a good read on the personal level describing combat. I'm starting "Black Edelweiss" tonight.

HOWEVER I still give Sutkus book an A. How could I rate it so high? His post-war story is rivetting, compelling and tragic. The strength of this man can't be overstated. At the end I was upset because he stopped the narration right after he'd moved back to Germany. I would have loved to hear details of his last years.

Great book, even better soldier and a superb MAN.

Just bought the book as well... Haven't read it, but flipping through the pages there was some weird statements.

Did Zeiss cooperate with Ajack? I have never heard of such telescopic sight?
