Hi all!
I' ve been out with a friend of mine last night. We watched the "Inglourious Basterds" together some weeks ago and we 've been talking about the film, having our drink... She thinks that "I always have some bloody objection when I am watching a movie"... and that it was "really strange that I didn't have any in this one"!
I said that "Ok, the medal stuff was wrong, but I have seen pretty much worse, although it doesn't matter anyway...", to get THE answer: "Maybe they did it on purpose (as Tarantino has a strong B-movie influence), so that it appears like an "artificial" mistake, resembling the old, inaccurate movies?"
I couldn't talk for about a minute and the first words coming out of my mouth were a marriage proposal! It might seem too far fetched, but given that we pay so much attention to a film because of our "weakness", it seems like the world is "turning upside down against the absolute truth" from that viewpoint!
So, leaving dramatic threads aside, what do you guys think about it? Not necessarily about the opinion itself, but about our whole expectations from a movie as such? How much do WH eagle devices on an SS officer's blue long service ribbons against the correct runes count for, finally?
Cheers, Giorgos
