WW2 US Medals

I'm Looking for a book wich shows and explain the medals/badges from the
US forces during the 2nd world war.

There are some books about it but with crappy photos in it.
Hopefully some guys of you knows something about it and would recommend it!

I like to add some allied pieces into my collection, so some homework is needed.

There really isn't any that I know of that just focus on WWII.

There was a 3 volume set that did Army/Navy & Marines/ Airforce but it focused on more modern pieces.

National Geographic put out a compilation of the 3 monthly magazines in WWII that did cover quite a bit of information & medals.

I think "Call of Duty" is pretty much it. That's the book recommended to me when I started collecting US Medals - and the only one I've found since.

Call of duty is a good book (shows front and backs of medals). If you want something less expensive just so you can verify what the medals are there are other options like:

"Complete Guide to United States Military Medals 1939-Present" I think it's under $30 and it has good basic info on all the medals and ribbon bars, regs for wearing them, etc.
