There was a programme (film) on C4 the other night called 'Dresden'. It was a film based in the city just prior to the bombing raid. It was in German with subtitles and followed the story of a German nurse and her family, younger sister was BDM, father a surgeon and also featured the build up to the raid from the RAF perspective. There was a British pilot who had been shot down and found his way into the hospital and despite the nurse being engaged, they fell for each other and she was going to help him get away. There were some good uniform shots, military and political and it also had some original footage cut into the film.
Unfortunately it was on after midnight and didn't finish until nearly 0300 and having to get up for work I didn't get to see it all. Did anyone else see it or know if it is going to be shown again? It made a good change to see a movie based on the German home front.
*EDIT* Just found it on Amazon and play.com although I wouldn't pay £15 for it....
