    John Ehle 'The Survivor'

    Has anyone read 'The Survivor' by John Ehle? It is an amazing account of a Waffen SS volksdeutscher named Eddy Hukov who ends up in the French Foreign Legion after the war. He goes from Africa to Indochina and then deserts and ends up in Thailand. It is written as a biography, and I am curious if anyone knows more about the story and if Eddys tale is true or not?

    Just reading it now, goot a copy for 2 dollars. Amazing story, similiar in scope to As Far As My Feet will Carry Me.

      Thanks for posting this. I've been looking for anything on WSS in the Foreign Legion and look forward to it arriving.

      Seems they've also made a film of As Far As My Feet Will Carry Me. Has anyone seen it?

          As to the original question, is it a real or made up story, I can't say. If its fake, its VERY detailed & would be difficult I think to make up that much information.
