    Trip to UK

Just returned from a trip to the UK and as usual my book/DvD collection has increased.

I bought Black Book, always wanted to have it but as i perused the foregin film shelf in HMV i also picked up a russian film claled They Fought for the Motherland. Any ideas on what the film is like? Couldnt find that Finnish film mentioned on a thread below (cant remember the long name!)

Likewise i picked up Berlin Soldier by Helmut Altner. Anybody off here read it and if so what did you think? Thought of Anthony N. as i bought it seeing as personal memiors and the Battle of Berlin are his current topics of interest

Hi Jonathan, "They Fought for the Motherland" was made in the 1970's. I have watched it a few times. It is a little bit slow. If your copy has the interviews on it that is worth watching as it puts the production of the movie into context. The Russian kit is very good The film covers the Russian withdrawl in 1942 towards the Volga.

    Cheers, Ade.
