Just saw this last night--I highly recommend it. This is a B&W German-made film from 1955 starring Curt Jurgens. It is loosely based on the life of LW General Ernst Udet, but real historical figures are referenced--Hitler, Goering , Himmler, etc.
The uniforms are fantastic, and they undoubtedly used many original pieces. Most seen are LW and SS/SD. The only anomaly is the SS-General wearing the A-SS black uniform (it takes place in 1941), but this was obviously done for dramatic effect. The film is anti-war, but is definately interesting and entertaining--I would give it an 8/10.
I watched a VHS copy, but I understand it is out on DVD, and subtitled.
