Hi,for all UK watchers tomorrow evening,17th June channel 5,8pm,"On May 17 1943,bomb aimer George 'johnny' Johnson,just 21 years old,was crouched in the snnout of a Lancaster bomber,sweeping low over Germany,a cargo of bouncing bombs primed and ready to be deployed.He was part of an elite RAF squadron heading for three giant dams which supplied water to Hitler's arms industry;his target,Sorpe Dam.Little did Johnny realise that he was taking part in what would go down in history and popular culture as one of the most daring raids ever.Sixty-five years later,Johnny now 86,is filmed as he heads for France to see his beloved Lancaster bomber dug from a field.He then visits Sorpe Dam itself ,where the enormity of the missions purpose finally sinks in-and he realises that after all these years,he is relived that it failed".
