HJ Book: "Youth Led by Youth"

This is a 3-vol series printed in the late 90's out of the UK by a Philip Baker. Has anyone read it/seen it, and is the series any good?

What does it cover, and is it more text than pics or vice-versa?
Anything on the AHS, NPEA, Marine-HJ, Flieger HJ?

Hello, superb references and in England a very collectable. If you see the Books buy them, they are difficult to find. Although for me nothing beats David Littlejohn's - The Hitler Youth & John Angloia's 2 volume set - The Hitler youth, which are all profusely illustrated.

      Baker's HJ Books

I have these books and corresponded with Mr. Baker after the first volume appear and spoke with him at the MAX Show. While I enjoyed the works and saw quite a collection in them (I assume mostly his), I felt that the saving grace in his works was the contribution of some of the original HJ members and their work in the series.
I knew Jack Ulrich through Tom Johnson and spoke with him before he passed away at the MAX Shows when he attended. His experience in the HJ which Phil Baker presented in one of the books, was amazing and he remembered the experiences so well, it was an excellent view from an HJ member concerning the end of the war and his experiences in Silesia, now a part of Poland. He felt that this land should be returned to Germany.

I saw the first volume when it was originally available. I thought, at the time, that it was rambling and disorganized, and that most of the information and photographs were available elsewhere. The Littlejohn volume plus the Angolia set usually answer whatever questions I have.
