    Film of Piano Wire Hanging of Resistance Officers

    I had always thought that the film Hilter ordered of the hanging by piano wire of the resistance individuals was never found. But someone said that the film was recently found in Russia.
    Is this true?
    Also, is it an urban legend that the film was shown to all German officers after the fact?

    There is a very good documentary on Goebbels/Propaganda called "Eye of the Dictator". In it there is an interview with a cameraman who filmed the executions of the July 20 plotters at Plotzensee prison, he specifically stated that they were hanged with rope, and not piano wire.

      In a caveat to Fred's comment, there have been several lengthy threads on this topic on the Holocaust and War Crimes sub-forum on Axis History Forum ( http://forum.axishistory.com/viewfor...208dc641ed030e ) over the years. If you go to this sub-forum and enter "Plotzensee" in the SEARCH window, you will probably find them.
