Recommendations for Totenkopf-Division reading and research

    Hi all-

Just wondering if anyone could recommend some books on the history of the Totenkopf Division.

Has anyone read "Like a Cliff in the Ocean: A History of the 3rd SS-Panzer-Division Totenkopf" by Karl Ullrich? If so, what did you think, and would you recommend it?

Any suggestions will be most appreciated.
    Thanks!

        Rob.

The Sydnor book is the best academic study.

The one below is an easier read with plenty pix. It's on Amazon.

Thanks, Robin... I've got that one and blasted through it. As you say, a quick, easy read

Nobody has an opinion on "Like a cliff in the ocean..." ? I've heard mixed reviews, and I'd like to know if it's worth the $$$ before I drop the cash.

I've just ordered the Sydnor book through Amazon.com - looking forward to receiving it.

          Thanks again, guys!

                W. Vospersel did a multi volume set on the Totenkopf Division titled SOLDATEN-KAMPFER-KAMERADEN. I recommend this set if you are doing serious research on the Totenkopf Division.

WIE EIN FELS IM MEER: Kriegsgeschichte der 3. SS Panzerdivision "TOTENKOPF" is a two volume by Karl Ullrich.
