Photo Of Hitlers Coat In Bunker 1945

Found this on a website. I guess the photo must have been taken by the Russians. The photo claims to show (which is on the ground) hitlers coat in which he wore when he took his life. Apparantly it was removed prior to his and Evas body being removed for cremation. It looks like blood on the right hand shoulder of the coat.

    You guys decide.

This is not what it purports to be. What is meant by 'a website'?

The painting, of which we see just a bit, illustrates what was supposed to be a death scene in the bunker that has never been been subtantiated. The painting is a post war, fanciful artist's rendering of an imagined event.

Hitler, at this time, did not wear a pre-war party style tunic. He wore his wartime style.

By time the Russians entered the Bunker, the rooms were not in as good a condition as noted here.

This is some sort of a comped up scene.

I'd need to look back to see if I can find the http address on it. It's from a Jewish Holocaust site that hosts a variety of images from the time. I'd never seen this one before. I get the impression from the site that the image was from the Russians.

Ill see if I can dig up the addy.

I think this is the display setting of the Hitler items/furniture in the russian museum,Red Army museum I belive but not sure. I remember they have a display and the fact that the tunic was on the floor was very commented by collectors and historians back then.

And by the way, is not blood on the party tunic shown on the floor but burn marks, I think I have a color picture of that same tunic with medals in a book, the credit for the photo are for th "Russian Red Army archive".

or.. "This is the perfect opportunity to start collecting NSDAP political tunics"

Unless Hitler got nostalgic and wanted to wear an old tunic from the pre-war days wich got to be higly unlikley, this is not the jacket he commited suicide in.

Hitler stop wearing the "party brown" tunic at the start of WW2, from then on he only used the army feldgrau tunic in two combinations, standard 4 pocket tunic and double brested tunic for more formal or "office" use.

This picture is NOT from the bunker in 1945, it was part of an exibition made by the russians in the late 1980s early 1990s of Hitler "personal' items. The burn marks in the brown tunic shown can be seen clearly in the color photo which appear in the Time-Life books "HISTORY THE THIRD REICH" series, this also mean that the russians have at least 4 tunics of Hitler, 3 brown and 2 feldgrau.

Well, the russian goverment/museum have sooooooo much ORIGINAL Third Reich stuff in storage that even the actual curators don't know what they have. Case in question, the LAH standarte/flag, they have it compleat and didn't know it for decades.

Also, I belive the tunics, visor hats and all the other personal items to be original, the way they are treated and taken care show the hate and contempt of the russian goverment towards that regalia and to whom it belong in the past. Stalin considered this A.H. items his "personal war trophy" and they have been at the russian archives since the end of the war.

A lot of collectors ask. what ever happened to all of H.Himmler uniforms?
They are outhere, some in super private collections, others with insignia removed and others in storage....and not exactly goverment storage

All of this is my veryyyyyyyyyyyy personal opinion!!!

Although the Russians are not aware, they have Guensche and Linges tunics amongst others.
