Boy soldier memmories: "A long way gone"

    Hi guys

I am reading "A long way gone", by Ishmael Beah right now. I think it defenetly a must read for anybody who wants to see what it is like to end up in the middle of a war that captures everything: your town, your familly, your body and your soul.
The book is the true story of a 13 year old kid who's town is attacked by rebels in Sierra Leon in the 1990's. He goes from being a child, to being a human beast capable of inflicting the worst imaginable sufferings onto others.
I am not finnished the book yet, but I think it is high quality, though slightly boring at times. It gives one a different perspective on war then what you can get by reading WW2 war books. Many war books are written by soldiers who's familly and homes are safe and far away. This is not the case here: nowhere is safe, and familly and home are destroyed.
Here is a link I found to the books internet site: http://www.alongwaygone.com/index.html
