    War of The Rats

Has anyone read this book? It was more fiction but somehow I think the book was plagurized and turned into the movie Enemy at the Gates which was even worse. War of the Rats was not a bad read for fiction and much better then that movie. I ca nn ever find a paperback version again and was wondering if it was widely released?

I thought it was quiet good a lot of little touches that brought the book alive like the house that was occupied and defended by a russian sgt and his men (i think it is known as popovs house or somthing) is true and you can visit it today. even though fiction still a good read.

I think the book was plagerized, it was kind of a cool read. What was cooler in the book then the movie is König had a spotter with him. There were nice little touches to it. I seen enemy at the gates and within the first 5 mins I was like WAIT A MINUTE, thats that book I read years ago. No mention of it was made in the credits that I seen.

              Hi Munster,

According to Jean-Jacques Annaud the director of "Enemy at the Gates", the inspiration for the film came from the William Craig book of the same name that described the duel in several pages. (source: Directors interview on DVD

With regards to "War of the Rats" I read it some time ago and whilst it was an ok read, I found it pretty much instantly forgettable once I had finished it.

              Regards

              Ian

I think somebody may have been screwed out of some money there. Yes, it is forgettable but it was a fun read.
