New 82nd ABN Glider Arty book released

I just received this in the mail today. The authors sent me a complimentary copy as payment for using some of my dad's photographs. I haven't read it but am excited to get started as there are very few books that solely focus on the Glider Artillery Troops. There are not a lot of pictures but looks to be a good read. It's all about the 319th Glider Field Artillery and their missions.

The author's father was in "C" Battery in Italy and later "B" Battery from D-Day on. My father was in "A" Battery.

    Greg,
Can you tell us who published it or where it can be purchased? I did a quick search on Amazon.com and got nothing... Thanks, Homer

      World War II Books

      Homer,

You might try World War II Military Books in Monticello, IL. He seems to have most everything. Their website is down.

If your looking to get the book, it was just released from the publisher so I don't know who would have it in stock. You can do a "Google" search of the authors last name, "NIGL". His family tree comes up but so does info on the book. Look for the title and go there. The book is mailed from Oshkosh, WI and runs $22.90 including shipping. Here is a link to take you there.

This book was released the first of the month and is much more detailed. It contains the personal accounts of twenty veterans with their memories, missions, photographs, etc.

I have read this and highly recommend it to anyone interested in glider/artillery activity. It chronicals the highly decorated 319th Glider Field Artillery during WWII

                    Greg,

Thanks for the feedback. I'll be sure to pass it onto the author. I think it's good too, but of course, I'd be biased for obvious reasons.
