    I received my copy this week and I am pleased with it. (I don't know much about tunics, hence the purchase)

    It has plently of good quality photos in colour of the various tunics, markings etc.

              I have a copy of FELDBLUSE. It was an interesting and informative read. The authors have taken a different approach in examining the evolution of the German Army's service tunic, looking at how the tunic was gradually modified in design and materials as the war progressed until the final version, the so-called M44, a major design modification. Additionally, the authors explain the M36, M40, etc designations are collectors terms that are too general, failing to capture the numerous, sometimes suble changes to the service tunic. They also show where soldiers, particularly NCOs, frequently "enhanced" their later-war tunics to make them more eye catching.

              The book is well researched and where documentation is lacking, the authors state their opinions which are well thought out. A thorough combination of text, period photos, and clear photographs of surviving tunics is very instructive.

              The book is very fairly priced and well worth the money.

                          Greetings All,

                          My copy of the book arrived yesterday and I am about half-way through it. It is simple fantastic!! It gives a wonderful,chronilogical history of the German E.M. fieldblouse of WWII. The attention to detail is fantastic.
                          The only drawback to the book(being an insignia collector) are the line drawing of eagles and collar tabs.This is so minor in comparison of the information this book has.
                          It is well worth the purchase price and every Heer collector should own one.

                            So, I was early for a dinner date last night, had some time to kill so I popped into a Barnes & Noble, and there in the military section was the "Feldbluse" book, wrapped in cellophane, screaming for me to buy it!

                            Its a very nice book. The pictures are nice, and the research is amazing, esp. in relying on official Wehrmacht directives.

                            My only gripe is the modern photos of the guys wearing the uniforms today...dunno, just never liked books that do that...just give me detailed pics of the garment, and period photos of the same in wear...like in the Beaver books...but otherwise, great book--makes me want to go out and get more Heer tunics!

                              The only serious shortcoming in my view was the used of some obviously (and poorly) re-badged examples.
