    White Light, Black Rain

Am watching on HBO now a documentary on the 2 nuclear bombings that ended hostilities with Japan and WWII in the pacific.

Horrorific is all I can say, sad to see so many people, kids especially that are speaking on this documentary of their experience.

From this I pray the world never again sees the use of one of these devices.

I understand the need to get an enemy to realize they cannot win, but I wonder if there was another way to have shown them what was at hand.

    Leaves many questions to ask.

Well, to put this in context, my father was in Germany as a child in WWII. If the atomic bombs had been dropped there-maybe I would NOT exist.

My great uncle was one of the U.S. soldiers sent into the ground-zero area of Hiroshima, after the bomb was dropped. He was hospitalized with radiation sickness, after returning home, and died shortly thereafter.

The reality of this hits home with many more people than one might think.

Well considering that the Japanese did not 'get it' after the first one was dropped, I doubt there was anything else that would have made them see the light.

          Al,

I certainly do agree with you on that, in any case.
