Auschwitz through the lens of the SS

Recently found this link and if you haven't seen it's 146 interesting SS photos:

Anybody know what badge Rudolf Hoess is wearing in photo #128? EKI, Wound, KVK1 and ???

Lots and lots of SS uniform photos.

    Enjoy,
    Richard

Hi Richard, this stunning historical photo album has started several threads on the forum.

On a personal note for me, it has been a revelation as it has provided me with 7 images of an SS Officer who's 36 chained dagger I own. I have been searching for pics of him for almost 20 years.

The award you asked about is the "Common Gau Commemorative badge". These come with either a date of 1923 or 1925 superimposed on the swastika.

    Cheers, Ade.

Adrian, I'm just that just upped the significance of your dagger! Would you mind sharing who the dagger belonged to?

Hi Scotty, my dagger originally belonged to SS Standartenfuhrer Dr Enno Lolling. If you search his name on the forum, you will more info on him and some pics of the dagger.

You can see him here in another thread about this historic photo album:

Adrian, congratulations on your luck with the pics of Lolling, not often these things fall into your lap (or laptop) .

Chilling when you know what those men were responsible for.
