The Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors

Who's read it? By James D. Hornfischer. Pretty good read if you're into Naval War in the Pacific. Also just obtained a copy of Capt. Tameichi Hara's book "Japanese Destroyer Captain". A best seller in Japan, the 1962 bok has been republished and is a perspective of the Japanese side of battle.

    Eric,

I would agree that Hornfischer's book is an an excellent documentary of a significant WWII sea battle. It is especially poignant in that my uncle, S2 Thomas M. Kennedy, was among those lost when the the USS Hoel went down.
