I buy a lot of books on a lot of topics, happily paying the cost if even a fraction of new data is contained. This one from Bender Publishing is a $50 bargain of all new information. Covering the first group of SS General officers by rank/alphabet, most of these men are previously unrecorded despite their General rank status. While some Waffen-SS Generals have been examined in detail, the vast majority of senior ranked SS officers were with other SS elements or the Police.
If anyone wants to know about a signature on a signed document, Soldbuch, uniform, commander, or senior post holder among those contained in the first volume, there really isn’t anything else to find as far as biographical detail. Ranks, awards, posts, background, family, and detailed personal insights are included as well as a wealth of photos on the individuals. Want to know who was where in charge of what or who, its there. It’s a “one and done” on the men it covers, showing a level of detail that will make the completed effort essential for collectors smart enough to think or learn beyond “real or fake,” as well as historians and researchers.
