    KG200 Log Book group

Hi, here is a neat set. KG 200 was essentially the special operations wing of the Luftwaffe. They flew very secret missions to insert and resupply agents, deliver special people to special places, conduct jamming etc. There have been some books written about the unit, but a lot of KG200s history is still shrouded in secrecy. This is a log book, ID and misc docs to a radio operator, Franz Kramer, who flew with KG200 for a long period of time. The log book is a killer, as it reflects numerous combat missions, dating back to the battle of Britain era. The really nice entries are from his days w/ KG200, as they reflect combat flights in numerous German and captured aircraft, to include the B17 and B24!(see scans) KG 200 flew foreign planes, to include captured US bombers. The bombers were a favorite because of their range. The log book also reflects KG200 combat flights up until the very last days of the war (see scan). It has often been theorized that KG200 was involved in shuttling high ranking Nazis out of Germany as the Reich was collapsing, and perhaps this log book sheds some light on this.

Great group!! Flying personnel aside, KG 200 apparently had a Fallschirmjäger unit on strength which dropped into action against a strong force of French partisans holding the Vercors plateau. Does anyone know more about this Brandenburg-style Luftwaffe Special Ops para unit?
