    Red Baron

Sometime ago a read about a new Red Baron movie in this forum (I think), I have been looking for it but I cannot find it. Could someone tell me what is the web site of the movie and when it is going to be in cinemas?

    Thanks a lot

      Interesting pictures in the gallery.

      Uniforms look good.

I have more faith in a small budget (compared to Hollywood) production without major 'name' actors.

It won't make a lot of $$ here in the US but, it will see my money if and when I find it playing.

I am hoping it is in the same class as Das Boot, Stalingrad, Come and See, Downfall (Die Untergang), and Shtrafbat.

The fact that hollywood isn't involved should make it a good movie. I for one am looking forward to seeing it...and perhaps seeing an Aussie machinegunner shoot him down.

              I'll waiting for with empatience...

              Hi there!
I'm linked to the site... The uniform are fantastic, relly nice. Even the crachters seems ok. Wolf is like the original one, lothar its ok. Manfred, as always happened is quite tall, even more than lothar... The real manfred was smaller than his brother, as the wartime pics show. The rest could be ok...we have only to see it at the cinema!
The budget not ever built a good film. Often lots of money convince the director to a large use of 3D technology... that in some example is quite cold...unreal... Better the mock dogfight in the 'battle of britain', than the fake 3d of 'pearl harbour'.
              Is my thought...
              cheers, frank

Well, I found those dogfights (BoB) very nice. They look real. Same story in 'Aces High' and 'Blue Max'

The flying between the houses and the 'two against them ALL' what we saw in pearl harbor is not even worthy to be compared with one another I think.

I suppose the coming 'Red Baron will disqualify the Flyboys entirely. The pictures and videos available on the page are very convincing that this movie will be just IT

I have seen the official trailer...

                      My remarks:

                      1) Germans - they do speak english - after several brilliant movies like Das Boot, Stalingrad or Der Untergang - I have expected German actors to speak German...

                      2) His greatest kill was she... - no comment

It is going to be bloody love story with air war in the background... Second Blue Max with all respect for its aerial scenes....

I am afraid, it will go in Flyboys footprints - hollywood standard

                      Anyone same feelings?

I hate that in war movies, germans got to speak german otherwise it is not trustworthy. A great flick like Schindlers list would be a master piece if they spoke german and not that ridicolus accent Ralph Fiennes "Amon Goeth" has in the movie.

Don't get your hopes up. I heard a rumor that the movie is inexplicably (and based on modern knowledge, inaccurately I might add) going to show Richthofen getting shot down, from the air, by Canadian Roy Brown, not Cedric Popkin, the Aussie on the ground. Just might ruin the film for me.

Pity, it is really bad news. First that they do not speak German. Then that "litle crazy thing call love." Hehehe, when this kind of movies put those love stories in Hollywood stile it just does not worck. The movies "Pearl Harbor" and "Enemy At The Gates" were destroyed for that love stories. Really bad movies in my opinion. So different from the love story in the movie "The Black Book," where the film was not destroy for it (I mean the historical meaning).

Anyway, bad news, I did not expect that from a German movie. I hope when they (IF), make a movie about the BISMARCK they make it good. (just like Das Boot, Stalingrad or Donw Fall)

                            Regards

"Black Book" is one of the best war movies... This is what I like - REAL THING!

From what I have seen - I am sure Red Baron will be one of many one will buy but won't mention in a top 10 list...
