Hello all,
nothing earth-shattering with this but interesting all the same (I hope ).
here's a few scans of a Luftschutz service book to a motorised unit that went onto serve in the Soviet union.

Here's an interesting entry,
you can see our man spent time fighting Soviet air raids against Konigsberg.
This aspect of the airwar against Germany is often overlooked, and indeed hardly mentioned in most western accounts i've read.
After this spell of action, he then is sent onto Rumania, and finally deployed in Russia....

The last..

The book contains no entries after 1942 this may well be explained by the following....
Also with the book was a small-and i hesitate to call it this-document group of release papers from both Soviet and American prison camps.
It's interesting to note on the US slip, the camp he was held at only granted it POWS the status of "Disarmed German forces".
