Does anybody know the translation of the popular song "Erika"?
    My german is very rusty.

    thanks

    Do you mean this one:

    Erika

    1. Auf der Heide bl******252;ht ein kleines Bl******252;melein
    Und das hei******223;t: Erika.
    Hei******223; von hunderttausend kleinen Bienelein
    Wird umschw******228;rmt Erika.
Denn ihr Herz ist voller S******252;******223;igkeit,
    Zarter Duft entstr******246;mt dem Bl******252;tenkleid
Auf der Heide bl******252;ht ein kleines Bl******252;melein
    Und das hei******223;t: Erika.

    3. In mein'm K******228;mmerlein bl******252;ht auch ein Bl******252;melein
    Und das hei******223;t: Erika.
Schon beim Morgengrau'n sowie beim D******228;mmerschein
    Schaut's mich an, Erika.
Und dann ist es mir, als spr******228;ch' es laut:
Denkst du auch an deine kleine Braut?
In der Heimat weint um dich ein M******228;gdelein
    Und das hei******223;t: Erika.
    -----

    Erika (literally translated from german)

    1. On the heathland blooms a little flower
    And its name is: Erika.
Excited by a hundredthousand little bees
    That surround Erika.
Her heart is full of sweetness,
    Delicate smell fills the flowerbeds
On the heathland blooms a little flower
    And its name is: Erika.

    2. In the homeland lives a little lady
    And her name is: Erika.
This lady is my true treasure
    And my luck(/happiness), Erika.
    When the Heathland red-purple blooms,
I sing to greet her with this song
In the homeland lives a little lady
    And her name is: Erika.

    3. In my small room also blooms a little flower
    And its name is: Erika.
    Already from sunrise untill sundown
    Erika looks at me.
And then it is to me, as if it speaks out loud:
Do you also think of your little bride?
In the homeland a little lady cries for you
    And her name is: Erika.

          Wenn alle untreu werden

          Wenn alle untreu werden,
          So bleiben wir doch treu,
          Da******223; immer noch auf Erden
          F******252;r euch ein F******228;hnlein sei.
          Gef******228;hrten unsrer Jugend,
          Ihr Bilder be******223;rer Zeit,
          Die uns zu M******228;nnertugend
          Und Liebestod geweiht.

          Wollt nimmer von uns weichen,
          Uns immer nahe sein,
          Treu wie die deutschen Eichen,
          Wie Mond und Sonnenschein!
          Einst wird es wieder helle
          In aller Br******252;der Sinn,
          Sie kehren zu der Quelle
          In Lieb und Treue hin.

          Ihr Sterne seid uns Zeugen,
          Die ruhig niederschaun,
          Wenn alle Br******252;der schweigen
          Und falschen G******246;tzen traun.
Wir woll'n das Wort nicht brechen,
          Nicht Buben werden gleich,
          Woll'n predigen und sprechen
          Vom heil'gen deutschen Reich!

          ----------------------------

          If all become unfaithful,
          Thus we remain faithful nevertheless
That on this earth there always
          Will be a F******228;hnlein for you.(f******228;hnlein?? flag?)
          Companions of our youth,
          You picture better times,
          That consecrates us mans virtue
          And loves death.

Never want to make us lose ground,
          Always be close,
          Faithfully like the German oaks,
          Like moon and sunshine!
Once it will become bright again
          In all brothers purpose,
          They turn to the source
          In love and loyalty.

          Your stars are our witnesses,
          Who calmly look down,
          When all brothers are silent
And false G'ds mourn (? I';m not sure for the translation of traun).
We don't want to break the word,
          Boys do not become unchanged,
          Want to preach and speak
          Of the holy German Reich!

The only problem is: How do you copy this to a word file?

hold the mousebutton and go over the text to highlight it
press (if you use a PC) CTRL + c
                  open Word
                  press CTRL + v

Or if you use a Mac
                  highlight the text
                  press Applekey (commandkey) + c
                  open Word
                  press Applekey (commandkey) + v

That doesn't work. There is some sort of anti-copy device on this forum... you cannot copy words. I've tried using the highlight, right-mouse-button, copy and paste and all I get are some zig-zag red lines in the paste.

                    Any other ideas?

Copy & Paste works fine here (using Mozilla Firefox browser ;-) )
Or you could make a screenshot and save it as a picture
                      Or....type it over by hand

Quick and dirty - right click copy, open notepad and paste it there.

Thank you Coastie, that worked... and then I can copy and paste it from there into a Microsoft Word File...

Hi Rachel, I am trying to find English translations for Soldat Kamerad and the Horst Wessel Lied. Instead of asking you to go through the trouble of posting and typing it all again, is there somewhere I can find them? I tried Google to no avail...
                              Thanks
