Goebbles Documentary

This evening, PBS/WGBH American Experience will broadcast a new documentary, The Man Behind Hitler, on Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels. This program, a 90-minute version of the film The Goebbels Experiment, is produced by Lutz Hachmeister and Michael Kloft. It includes rare historical footage from German archives and actor Kenneth Branagh reading excerpts from Goebbels’s diaries.

Please check your local PBS television listing for the exact broadcast time in your city. In New York, the documentary will air on WNET Channel 13 at 9:00 EDT. In Los Angeles, it will air on KCET at 9:00 p.m. PDT. Etc.

American Experience also has created a valuable website that is a companion to the series (click here).

PBS documentary

Hello Marc,
Great documentary on Goebbels and I recorded it. Now I have another good documentary to show next year to my students. You can't beat PBS-no commercials.

I thought it was very well done, and I thought the picture stills and film clips were very good. Most of it I have seen before, but still good stuff.

I enjoyed Kenneth Branagh's narration, but for some reason his narration kept reminding me of R. Heydrich.
