Adolf Hilter Book - Circa 1936

    Hi,
This book belongs to a friend who asked me to research it for him. It seems to me to be a limited production Book honoring the life of Adolf Hitler.
The book is roughly 9.5" X 12" and has 133 Pages.

The most interesting thing about the book is the construction. The Pictures are actual Photos that are Glued in, rather than being part of the page. I estimate that the book has some 3-400 Photos in it and they are very high quality.

The other interesting thing is that on the Spine (or what is left of it), it has the number 15 at the bottom. ( I assume that this is book # 15 in a series of numbered books?)

Any info on ot's value, rarety, etc.. would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Scott

This shot show the top of the next page.

( I am trying to figure out if the first part of this is trying to say that there were 801 -900 Thousand of these made )
I think that it must mean something else.

        Anyone speak technical German??

The rest of these Pictures shows examples of how the Pictures are placed in the book.
Keep in mind that these are ( actual Photos ) that are glued in throughout the book.

A friend of mine is a publisher and said that it would cost $1000.00 per book to produce a book this way today.

Lastly, I wanted to add this picture. Notice that it has a little bit of English at the bottom. ( Maybe for export reasons??)

Actually, it's a rather common book. And the condition of this one would make for a rather low value.
The Germans put out a few books similar to this one with paste-in photos. Another one you see all the time is the one that covers the 1936 Berlin Olympics.

These are referred to as 'cigarette card books' because the photos could be ordered by the use of coupons which came with packages of cigarettes. The empty book could be purchased so the individual could glue in the photos, or the book could be purchased at additional cost with the photos already mounted. The albums were produced about everything from movie stars, birds of the forest, baroque painting, to the Reichswehr, and later Wehrmacht. There were a number of political editions like the AH book, as well as different uniform and flag series. As Kurt noted, this is one of the more prolifically produced books, as you can tell by the fact that this printing was at 900,000, and it wasn't the last printing! Value in this condition, assuming all of the photos are present, is around $40.00.

                              Thanks guys,
I guess if they sell for $100 - $200 in good condition, then $40 would be about right for this one given the condition.
I will pass along the info to my friend.
                              best,
                              Scott
