    Film: The Grey Zone.

Hi Guys, just picked up this film from Gary Wood. Thanks Gary

I had not seen or even heard of this one before. If it has been shown on British TV before, I must have missed it? It was made in 2001 and stars Harvey Keitel (Who also was the producer) and David Arquette. Keitel plays a camp guard.

The story is that of the rebellion of the Sonderkommando at Auschwitz/Birkenau in the autumn of 1944. This film is the best I have seen on any Holocaust theme. It is VERY graffic. It is also based on a true story.

The set was specially built (in Bulgaria) and is spot on. Uniforms (with Andrew Mollo as advisor) are superb.

    Highly recommended!

    Cheers, Ade.

It's not a film to watch if your feeling a bit 'down', ol Harv sure does some movies that are a bit out of left field, but I must admit this one was well done, but starts out at sombre and doesn't let up.

Bob (I have it on DVD).

        The Grey Zone

        Hello,

I agree. An excellent movie on the theme. It really shows the day to day horror that the people had to go through in the camps. I would say that it shows the suffering much better than Schindlers List.

I thought the last scene was quite graphic when all of them are executed on the lawn. This is definatly not a movie to show to small children.

          The Grey Zone

          Hello,
I also saw it when it came out in 2001 and felt it did a great job on how extermination camps like Auschwitz-Birkenau functioned.

It is very dark, but I really recommend it.

Yes, the uniforms were spot on.

          Regards,
          Jody

              Hello Mello,
I can see that you are a neo-Nazi and we don't need your kind around here. Spout your junk on some other site.
