Remember, Remeber the 5th of November

Has anyone seen "V for Vendetta" yet? Especially you English blokes since it's about your country. I watched it yesterday at the theater at a matinee and there was me and just one other guy in the movie house (nice, I hate a crowded theater). I have not read the Comic" book that this is based on yet, but was intrigued with the theme in light of what is happening today. Is the lead character "V" a hero or a terrorist? Depends on your point of view isn't it?

I believe this is a quote from somebody: "One man's hero is another man's traitor"

Great movie. It was getting lots of negative attention, critics were saying it supports terrorism. Seems like this movie was an eye opener for people in some ways. I mean if were not careful something like that might possibly happen. Today people don't give a crap when we get taxed more and more. Or if a law that is rediculous passes we just shrug our shoulders and go on with our lives. What will happen if a Govt goes to far will it's people do anything about it?

      I've seen it,

enjoyed it a great deal actually.

Quite close to the source material, but i would recommend reading the original work whilst the film is fresh in your mind.

Some minor, and not so minor changes in characters and events happen between the comic and film, and the ending is entirely different in its cinematic form.

Still well worth a watch for a piece originally conceived as an attack on the Thatcher Government.

A savage irony is of course that many people in the UK today have no idea what the 5th of November actually commemorates.

      Patrick.
