    RAF Bombing Mission Film

About 20 years ago I remember watching a COLOUR documantary on an RAF bombing run over Germany.

It was shown on TV and included lots of footage and commentary from an onboard reporter and cameraman.

The documantary covered the planning of the raid thro to the raid itself and then the return to base.

I have not seen it since and despite my best efforts have been unable to track it down.

    Can anyone help.

    Regards

    Andy

I remember that one and bloody good it was too. Seeing colour film of 60 odd Lancasters all queing up to take off was breathtaking. I've got it on video somewhere but finding it again is another matter..

I know it well as it was filmed at RAF Hemswell in north lincolnshire (the base was out of use but the married quarters and old Sgts mess was still used by the army based up the road at Kirton in Lindsey)

There is or was a small museum there and i seem to remember them selling copies of the video...but this was over 10 years ago. I'd bet if you had a look in Flypast or one of the other warplane type magazines you'd find it for sale.

Happy viewing and thanks for the info, I have been trying to track down this film for ages.

        Cheers
