    ...

I am new as well and have asked similar questions - so far a good starting point is the following and look for a post by the same name. (make sure yu check Amazon for his other books)

    Good Luck

Detecting Fakes - A Guide To Third Reich Militaria by Robin Lumsden

** this is only a basic book - not specific to the EK but basic reference please review the post and make you own decision

I disagree. That book is not specific to EK's and is too basic in information. If you're only interested in the EK series, 2 books come to mind:

The Iron Time (The EK from 1813 to 1957)
The Iron Cross of 1939 (Title says it all)

There is another book by V.E. Bowen that also covers the Iron Cross but I can't remember the title.

Yes. The Iron Cross 1939 should be easily available on the net and is not too expensive. The Iron Time is more difficult to get hold of and will certainly cost you a lot more. Both books are ideal for EK collectors. Keep an eye on the Estand of this forum as they do turn up from tim eto time.

            Fuser.

Gordon's book the Iron Cross of 1939 is super. Lots of info and pictures. It also covers fakes.

            Kind regards

              These get my votes too.
Also, for supplemental and truely arcane material-do a search on this site. I think we have pics of 10% of ALL extant original 1813 EK2s in the world.
