A good, inexpensive book that should fill your needs is the Osprey book 'Hitler's SA' by Littlejohn. It's also one of the only SA books still in print.

I like Jill Halcomb's SA book.

There are some half decent photos in the Halcomb book, and a useful map of Germany showing where the SA groups were located, but otherwise there are too many errors and inaccuracies, especially in, but not limited to, the history section IMO.

One of these years I plan to have my under-construction manuscript, coauthored by Andreas Schulz, of Leaders of the SA, NSKK, and NSFK, Volumes I and II published (probably by Roger J. Bender). Will cover all officers from Stabschef / Korpsfuhrer through Brigadefuhrer, with detailed biographical sketches and photos.

          Best,
          ~ Mike

I'm really looking forward to that one to become available, Mike!
