What happened to 'Peter', the little boy who received the EKII after the fighting was over?

I think he was based on Armin Lehmann, who won the EK2 as a messenger for Axmann in the bunker. Lehmann is still alive and wrote a book about his time in the bunker. Like the boy in the film, Lehmann describes his relationship with his father. Also, like the boy in the film, he was one of those presented to Hitler with his EK2.
