If a helmet was sitting in a puddle of water for 76 years it would be in worse shape. This helmet even had the leather liner intact!

Steel can’t. Especially in water and oxygen.

The producers missed an amazing opportunity for a first of it's kind television event.

Just after this doozy they should've had Zac Bagans and his motley crew of Ghost Adventurers communicate with the dead spirit of the SS soldier entrapped in the bunker while said Bagans narrates at 1st grader reading level asking us all rhetorical questions that can never be answered. Im sure the script says (read slowly) -
                Bagans (off-camera):

                'Was....this....EVP..the...disembodied voice....of...the....SS....soldier....whose....hel met....I....was....holding?'
