    Airfix 1/48 Defiant

Here's the Airfix 1/48 Defiant Mk I, depicting an aircraft of 264 Squadron that saw action during the Dunkirk evacuation. It survived into August 1940, the undersides by then repainted Sky.

Another nice one Mike, I'm liking the subtle weathering on the wing roots and fuselage panels. Do you flatten the kit tires or use after market wheels on your planes?

          Thanks for the encouraging comments.

Bern, I just flatten the kit wheels as I haven't checked to see if resin wheels are available.

Superb work Mike and thanks for taking the time to share it.

May I ask how long this took?

                Ian,

I've never strictly timed myself but would estimate 2 months. I only work when in the mood and can leave a project for weeks. The progress of this model was interrupted by the Lancaster shown in my earlier thread.

The Battle of France images are very interesting.

                Happy Christmas,

                Mike

Thank you Mike - Never having had the skill to make models of such quality I have always wondered how long they took.

Thanks also for the Battle of France photos compliment. I am just off to look at the Lancaster now.

                  Merry Christmas
