Most of the work happens inside of the head, a bit of brain storming about material and how to make things, good real examples, drawings, RLM sheets etc.., calculator, ofcourse..
We've a lot of bad weather lately, so not much to do during the weekend and then I just start one of the 100 items I still have in mind.

This set-up is just for fun, it's not a permanent one, I'm still working on it and I actually have no idea where it ends ..
It's in the living room, till it's finished .., so, every week my wife gives me 5 minutes to remove all this stuff and I tell her I will ...

There's also a general involved and I need a radio man and a chair ... and some other things ..
I'll tell my wife that I need another week.., month, .. 3 ...
... and then there's the life boat ... and its crew ..

Spanish Civil War ribbons (to include MMI) but no Spain Cross in Gold?



Amazing work Jos Where do you get such detailed badges & ribbon bars in that scale?

Hi Scott,

There is a Spanish cross in that scale, but it's quite rough and I don't like it..

I did the ribbon bar, took a pic of mine and scaled it to this dimension, then took a piece of copper tube and removed half of it and glued it on, then took a piece of wire and glued it at the back, so I could make 2 prongs to push through the jacket.

The other badges are for sale left and right, all different brands, some are Dragon, some are Soldier Story etc ..
Not easy to find sometimes, plus not all badges are for sale and others are too big or ugly etc..

I would love to have the observer, radio operator etc for flight, but only the pilot badge can be found.
I also have the glider in cloth.

You know, they just hit the market with a action figure, when it's sold out it's done and they move on.
There isn't and wasn't much luft pilot stuff, so that's why I started to create some things ... and I must say that I enjoy it a lot.
I also have some para's, FJ .., I like to create them how I like them, not the ones offered, I buy bodies, heads and loose items.

My weak are shoes, boots and weapons, I buy the best, all are quite expensive, but they add so much more, so no plastic shoes and not too much plastic weapons.

Then I've a bit of US airborne figures, same here, no Dragon stuff ..
One step higher is DID ( Dragon in Dreams ), it's much better, nice heads, nice weapons, also Soldier Story, Cal-Tek ..
Ti-Lite for weapons, New-Line for shoes ..
... but equipment sometimes needs work, I always try to make it better and to fix the errors.
