Jagdtiger 331 - The Former Aberdeen Jagdtiger

All, this was a kit bash that I put together from a partially built Jagdtiger I bought off of eBay and parts from a scrapped Tiger II. It's not completely done yet as I need to weather it quite a bit more, but I was impressed by the size of this monster. I was able to see the actual 331 at Aberdeen back in the 90's - I am hoping that they are going to restore it before it goes on display at the new Armor and Cavalry Museum at Ft. Benning. I tired to reflect the condition a few weeks before it was abandoned in April 1945.

Nice job with the ambush paint scheme Don. And you're right, that is one monster of a machine. My wife and I visited the Aberdeen Proving Grounds a few years ago, before they moved the Jagdtiger. I've some photos of her standing in front of it with her hand next to one of the shell hits on the bow plate. I don't know if it's a fact, but supposedly the frontal armour on the Jagdtigers was never penetrated during the war.

Great work. Visited Aberdeen in 2007 and take some pics from the tanks there, including the Jagdtiger. It was very interesting there.

Looks great! I saw her a few times at Aberdeen. Unfortunately I don't have the pictures at hand. But here she is at Fort Benning on May 7th 2015. A day or two later she was moved under cover. The guys there are doing a great job of restoring and preserving the collection.

Excellent work. If the Germans had managed to work the bugs out of these things, they would have been an unstoppable Juggernaut. A platoon of these things was the equivalent of a Fletcher class destroyer on land, firepower wise.
