    Thank you Harold!
This was done when I had very little knowledge of german helmets, just a few photos in a book to go by.

I would certainly be interested in an M16 if you decide to do one.

Tony Barton in the UK makes an M16.
You can see I used one in my trench vignette further down the forum this past year.
He's a nice guy and I'll be happy to leave that market to him.

Hey Monroe, I was curious if you have made any Fallschirmjager M38 helmets as of yet?
It sure would be great to see some nice versions of these available.

Sorry, no paratroop helmets yet. Our M35/40 helmets have been selling very well and we haven't really put energy into making anything different. No excuse really except that we have too many projects going on at once.
Having said that, when we do get around to making a different helmet type, we'll investigate a lot of other types like American, British, Russian, Italian, Japanese and French. That will involve researching what is available and comparing to originals, something that took a little time with the German helmet, so it can get involved.

Sounds like there is still hope for the idea of a 1/6th M38 helmet then. I know before when it was being discussed there seemed to be lots of interest. I think it would be a very good seller for you.
Thanks for the reply on this subject.

Hey Monroe, We have not given up hope that you will consider an M38 Para Helmet with liner in 1/6th scale.

Talk about demand! Funny how this thread keeps getting bumped.
Come on Monroe, give the people what they want!

Maybe something to think over for people who have access to 3-D printing..
Not only helmets, loads of other items still need a up-date.
Perfect scale and realistic looking items will always sell IMO.

                      Jos.

You guys are really putting the pressure on me about making more helmets.
I'm going to have to look at the idea of the M38 again.
I've got a lot of projects going on right now so I'm a little scattered but the peer pressure is going to get to me.
3D printing has evolved since I first made the M35/40 helmet.

I'll probably have more options of materials and the process now.
I still need an original helmet to scan. I don't know if a repro shell has the same shape as a real one. I can tell a repro shape M35 but I'm not good with the nuance of a paratrooper helmet shape.

I'm thinking out loud about this because I'd buy a repro helmet if the shape is correct.
I can't afford a real paratrooper helmet. I sold my only real example many years ago. I don't know anyone I could borrow an M38 from.

And to add to the discussion, I'm trying to figure out how to make an M42 shell.
I have ideas that I'll probably try out before the M38.
I'm not sure 3D printing would get me the razor fine edge needed for the M42.
Anyway, I guess stay tuned and thanks again for all the support on these.

I'm quite pleased to hear this news Monroe. I wish I were more versed in the shape of the repro M38 on the market. I think there are a couple on the market from re-enactor sales sites that are very close to an original in shape and size. Somehow there has to be a way to have a real example to scan. The version with the spanner bolts on the shell and the early to mid war version of the straps & buckels in the liner is also very important to consider. Much like the 2 versions that BBi produced with there Fallschirmjager figures, The Kreta & the Ardennes figures. There will be a Lot of interest when you produce the M38 in 1/6th scale that have these particular details I am sure of that.

Hey Monroe, Heres hoping 2018 is the year you put this into production.
