1/18 scale Panzer VI rework

A collector ask me if I could rework one of 21st Century Toys static 1/18 scale Panzer IV. The first step is to trow away the thick plastic side armor and make brass plate replacement ones and the appropiate support railling.

In these photos no final fitting,shape filing,sanding or cleaning of the soldered joints or panels/railing have been made, this will come next. The future owner ask me for the 'extended/angled" front armor panel. which I made..as well as a "regular"front cut ones.

There a lot more to fix and rework in this project....including a compleatly new paint/cammo and weathering job and a mini diorama for the final display.

This "cammo job" is one of the ugliest done by 21st for their line of 1/18 scale panzers....I want to put a coat of primer already and hide that "ugly cammo"!!!

Here it the tank with it's new base color and some early weathering base/shadow application. Sorry for the crapy pictures but the camera is giving trouble again.

The tank already have it's cammo applied, will post photo of it next.

Well this one is almost finish, it just need a light coat of Dullcoat to blend the decals and take the shine out to an rven flat, will do that one this weekend the adjust some small details and then is off to his owner!!!


This turn out nice in my personal opinion and tanking in consideration that is was actualy a toy made to be played with and it do not have the accuracy or detail of a plastic armor kit.
