Thanks for the kind coments to all my fellow members about this work, greatly appreciated.Well after today this one is almost finished/ready to be packed and shipped to his new home, but before I will take the final photos of the tank fully finished and post them here in a couple of days.

After I finish Jacques ship, I will be doing a conversion of one of these Panthers into a "F" variant with a new scrachtbuilt turret.

The "new" 1/18 Tigers 1, early and late type also have very good potential....if you don't want to spend almost $700 and up for the RC 1/16 scale Tamiya unassembled kits, I have two of those 1/18 tigers on the way for future reworks/detailing.....but out of the box they look very good!!!

It's getting there.... Just a bit of constructive criticism; the scratches, chips etc. IMHO are too frequent, prominent, consistent, clean and look somewhat un-natural. There's also a general lack of dust, dirt and fading to the paint (I know you mentioned you are still working on it.) Perhaps using some filters, washes, pastels and general weathering techniques will help give it a more realistic look and finish. Here's a great example of a in-progress Tiger I to help illustrate what I'm referring to (and this is 1:35 scale!)

That's a exelent looking Tiger Tank, not my favorite cammo, but stunning model never the less!!

About my model and the chips and not looking convincing, well that's all in the liking and taste of the modeler making the model and the person looking at the model,I can't please everyone but the future owner of the tank and I are happy as it turn out. Some modelers like to keep the "use/combat scars" of the armor to a minimum, but looking at period photos of tanks that have been in combat a LOT of scars can be seen on them, unfortunatley most of these photos are black and white and you can debate until the end of time how those scars looked,colors,how far/fast the steel corroded,etc,etc. There the same "debate" in the modeling community about how much weathering a veteran/long patrol U-boat should have, by looking at period pictures some of these boats they are so weathered that looked like scrap metal ready boats!!!.....for me and in my VERY personal opinion/taste, weathering could be also part of the story...in real and in scale, Again in the end is the modelers choice and study of the subject he modeling to make it's final dessision on how to make his model and what look to give it.


I don't like to use filters,deep washes,dust clouds or "weathering powders"....is my personal taste/style of course and in my VERY personal opinion some of these products are wayyyy to expensive!!!!!, but many fellow modelers love them and the effect they achive in their models is great, I just don't like them and preffer to use the airbrush,light dusting,pastels and light washes and when ground work/dirt is required in the model, artist acrylic medium is my friend and good old brush for my paintings/weathering effects.....I am old style!!

As you noted, in the photos posted the model is not finished and also a VERY important point is that under no circumstances I consider myself a master modeler or my modeling work as such, I do them the best way I can and have a lot of fun and joy doing this......again I am old style...but happy

But if fellow forum members want to see truly works of art in miniature, I invite them to visit the website link you posted "Missing Linx" in there you will find not only stuning Armor models and dioramas in the galleries but a lot of helpfull tips and technicks like you mentioned, there is an universe of inspiration on those pages
