Bare Metal is it. Produced by Testors/Model Master, comes in any metal coour form stainless steel to jet exhaust to almuninum. On the testors website the spray paints are advertised as metalizer. Airbrush verion I believe goes by bare metal.

Actually, what I have is produced by "Bare Metal Foil Co." It comes in sheets and you burnish it on. Looks very much like real metal.

From what I recall Tesors also marketed their polishable spray paints bare metal (Or natural meal, I can't remember). I believe the Bare Metal Foil Co. Also makes printer friendly decal sheets...it was some company that sold meal sheet for model planes also had decal sheet...

The Testors Metalizer Paints, buff and non buff, are very, very good to get those diferent metal finishes in late 1950's to todays modern jets, from the typical colors of alloys to polish aluminum, mate aluminum, titanium and steel. The thing is that they work at their best by airbrush, I never was very conviced of this line of paints in spray cans, their finish, not that bad BUT......by airbrush they REALLY looks the metal part.

You also can use Alclad metalic paints, they can be airbrush and then buffed to an almost mirror like aluminum, they are expensive compared with the Testor Metalizer line BUT worth every penny!!!

As usual, with this type of finish the model have to be almost flawless of any and every imperfection or it will show because of the reflective finish, also use the recomended primers for each brand, beliveme, some paints don't work well with other companys products, I learn this the hard way when finishing a 1/32 scale F-104 Starfighter in metal finish.

Bare-Metal Foil self addesive paper "film" is a very good alternative and since they come in Bright, aluminum, mate, gold, light gold, the posibilitys are endless, just remember to put a light coat of clear gloss or semi gloss to protect the metal finish of the "paper" and panel lines "wash".....is a very personal preference of mine and not nessesary in the view of other modelers.

              Hope it helps!!!!
