    1/6 figure collector from Romania

    Hi everyone,

To introduce myself, my name is Alex Lupu, from Bucharest, Romania. I am , it seems, among the few locals collecting 1/6 military actionfigures, I also collect WWII German militaria. For quite a while, I have been trying to contact fellow Romanians with similar interest in this area, without too much success. I have tried to acquire mostly high ends from DML, CH and DID. I now have some interesting pieces to disccuss and comment over, and even trade.

If I have already arouse a bit of curiosity, just let me know.

    All the best,

    Alex

    Hi Alex,
I'm a fellow 1:6th junkie. If you want to track down colelctors in your area, try some of the major 1:6th forums...that's how I know a few collectors in Russia, and other places you wouldn't expect to find people who collect.

      Alex,
There's a number of 1/6 forums on the internet. The 2 I go to most are these:

      http://onesixthnet.yuku.com/ (The Sixth Division)

      http://www.sixtharmygroup.com (Sixth Army Group)

There's plenty to see on both forums and just about everyone who's on one goes to the other. A number of folks who are members on those 2 come here as well.

If you want a good chance of finding people in Romania who collect, try these forums:
http://www.combat-1a6.eu (It's in Italian but they don't care too much about post lanuage)
http://www.frontabschnitt1zu6.de (German Language preffered, English tolerated)
http://www.scalemodels.ru (Russian only!(Yes, I learned the hard way))

Thanks a lot for all the help guys...quite frankly, I never have enough time to stay on these forums...

my dream is to have a 1:6 convention in Romania...

...my fellow collectors from Romania (mostly macquetteeers) always put a smile on their faces when I tell them about my "Barbies in uniform"...

I'm also a member of both. Good to see other 1/6's on here.

I love the 1/6, they have evolved leaps and bounds since the first Dragons in the early/mid 90's I would really like to get involved in the weathering and detailing aspects of them, do the forums mentioned here delve into those aspects of the hobby? Some of the newer figures are just spectacular, which make the earlier pieces look, well, more GI Joe looking, but I don't think there is too much wrong with that, given that its probably what attracted many of us to the 1/6 arena.
